About SBQ-PVA technology
Technical Tips
SBQ-Presensitized direct emulsions
ONE POT SOL C
SBQ-Presensitized emulsion for close tolerance printing
applications for electronics and four color processing. Designed for very fine
line detail and halftones. Easily reclaimable. For use with mild to aggressive
solvent based inks.
AQUASOL TS
SBQ-Presensitized emulsion for textile and garment printers. Easy
to use, excellent details and superb durability. Superior in water resistance
when used with diazo. A&B hardener may also be necessary when used with
discharge inks on long runs.
MSP-2
SBQ-Presensitized for making very fine resolution images on
stainless wire mesh. Especially designed for thick stencil applications from 100
to 1000 microns thick.
AQUA-PRO
SBQ-Presenstized emulsion for projection imaging. Designed for
wider format prints, billboard and P.O.P. Highly sensitive to low UV intensity.
PHOTOCURE Series
Pure and diazo photopolymer direct emulsions. PHOTOCURE are
affordably priced without compromising high quality stencil performance.
PHOTOCURE TXR
Red colored SBQ-Presensitized pure photopolymer emulsion.
Recommended for textile and garment printers using plastisol inks.
PHOTOCURE SR
Red colored SBQ-Presensitized pure photopolymer emulsion.
Recommended for UV, commercial, graphics and plastisol inks. Universal type
emulsion for most of applications.
PHOTOCURE DX
Red colored dual cure type direct emulsion for multi-purpose
printing ink applications. Excellent resistance to solvent or water based inks
with easy reclaimability.
Dual Cure and Special Emulsions
SP-9800
New dual cure emulsion for use with UV, solvent based, plastisol
and commercial / graphic inks. Easy to coat and reclaim. Flexible stencil
profile ensuring extended durability. Outstanding resolution and definition.
Recommended for wider range of mesh selection in use.
SP-9500
Premium high quality dual cure emulsion. Recommended for all
types of inks and water thinnable UV inks. Recommended for using with high mesh
count and critical tolerance printing applications.
PHOTOCURE DCS
Inexpensive diazo photopolymer emulsion. Wider exposure latitude
and flexible stencil profile. Recommended for short runs and low cost project
works.
SP-9701, SP-9705
Diazo photopolymer emulsion specially designed for using with
aggressive solvent inks, i.e. M.E.K. or Butyl Carbitol Acetate etc.
About SBQ-PVA Technology
SBQ-PVA is the pure photopolymer name for Stilbazolium-Quaternary-Polyvinyl
Alcohol.
SBQ-PVA is a patented technology developed by Murakami Co., Ltd. Japan for the
screen printing industry.
What does SBQ-Presenstized mean? The base polymer PVA emulsion is chemically
modified with a photosensitizer called SBQ molecules. During the UV exposure,
the SBQ molecules, being a part of the PVA polymer will crosslink and harden the
PVA to produce your imaged area of the stencil. So there is no need to add the
diazo sensitizer to our SBQ emulsions.
This innovative technology was developed to overcome the common disadvantage in
diazo based products. You will discover that your Murakami SBQ product has the
following qualities:
- Fast exposure times- 2-5 times faster than diazo based
products.
- Longer shelf life- up to 1 to 3 years.
- Superior definition and resolution qualities
- Less pinholes and consistency from coat to coat
- Extended coated screen storage shelf life- up to 6 to 9
months.
- Reduced production time
- Superior resistance to humidity than diazo based products.
- Less waste of emulsions
Specialized Technical Applications
Improved water resistance and durability
Product Choice: Aquasol TS and Photocure TXR
a). Adding the optional diazo will dramatically improve your print run length
but still reclaimable with a high water pressure unit. (Recommend around
2000psi) and emulsion remover chemistry. Exposure will increase by 25%.
b). For longer production runs-add optional diazo and treat with A&B
Hardener. Stencils treated with A&B Hardener will be permanent and not
reclaimable.
Water-thinnable UV Ink
Product Choice: Photocure SR (with optional diazo) and Photocure
DX, SP-9500, SP-9800 Water-thinned UV inks contain UV monomers that behave like
mild to aggressive solvents and mixed with water require a stencil to resist
both liquids simultaneously. The product choices given above are formulated to
resist the mixture of water and solvents effectively with print durability.
Thick Stencils by direct emulsions
Product Choice: MSP-2
MSP-2 can be hand coated for a stencil buildup thickness up to
1000microns. Recommended coating method is 2+3 Wet-on-Wet with each coat applied
slowly to avoid air bubbles. Apply buildup coats on print side with sufficient
drying between coats. Thick stencil must be thoroughly dry before UV exposure,
or stencil will peel off during development. The recommended screen media for
MSP-2 is stainless wire mesh.
