Not to be used with water-based inks or inks containing vinyl solvents. The green films turn blue upon exposure to actinic light. Adherable with water, FX-88 emulsion or other Ulano emulsions for special purposes. Available in 10, 15, 20, 30, 38, 50 and 70mthicknesses. Fast exposing SBQ/Diazo sensitized films intended for use with all solvent-based inks. Magenta colored films adherable with water or QFX® emulsion. Available in 15, 20, 30, and 40mthicknesses. SBQ (pure photopolymer) films are resistant to plastisol inks. They are coated to thicknesses of 30, 50, 100, 150, 200, 250 and 400 microns. While CDF®/QT-30 and CDF®/QT-50 are appropriate for halftone work and general sportswear printing, respectively, the thicker films should be used for high-density textile printing or other applications, such as peelable solder mask, requiring thick ink deposits through coarse mesh. Ulano CDF®/QT films may be adhered with water, or with QTX® emulsion. Mild ink washup solvents, such as mineral spirits, should be used with all CDF®/QT films. Avoid screen openers and aggressive solvents to allow easy reclamation. Rubylith® brand masking film is a red “light-safe” knifecut film coated on a polyester backing sheet. A special adhesive permits stripped portions to be replaced on the polyester for corrections; or, if desired, the red film can be transferred to film negatives or positives. The remarkable adhesive on Rubylith® always stays on the film, not on the polyester. Rubylith® photographs as black or gray depending on the film and exposure time. When contacting or projected through an enlarger, Rubylith® will print white. Amberlith® brand masking film is the same thing as Rubylith®, except that it is amber in color. Amberlith® cuts, peels, and performs just like Rubylith®. It is however, not quite as “light-safe” as Rubylith® on litho plates, bit it provides better “see-through”. Therefore it is preferred on many jobs. Amberlith® photographs as black or gray depending on film and exposure time. When contacted or projected through an enlarger, Amberlith® will print white. |
