Our Fluorescent pigments are 325 mesh (5 to 20 microns), and can be used in many solvent or water systems. Fluorescent pigments are stable under indoor light or indirect sunlight, but their optical effects degrade rather quickly upon exposure to direct sunlight. Fluorescent systems generally dry to a matte finish. A compatible clear coat should be used for a gloss appearance. To achieve maximum coverage, 2 to 3 lbs. of pigment should be used per gallon of mixing clear. Certain solvents may cause fluorescent pigments to congeal. Sample tests should be performed before production batches are made. Add pigment slowly while mixing clear is being mixed (we recommend a mixing machine), continue mixing until smooth uniform consistency is achieved. Filter or strain if necessary to remove agglomerates.
